SLSHOP lives for the community spirit. Without your mates, what would be the point in having a Merc?
On the 25th June we held our first collaborative event with CarNatter – an automative event outfit based in Daventry, Northamptonshire. Their space is located at a Grade Two listed munitions depot, featuring stone buildings flanking a central canal where boats would unload and load their cargo. Through the Venetian windows of each premises you notice that despite the aged setting, their are several businesses using the depot as their hub. CarNatter has turned their location into an indoor co-work space filled with petrolhead memorabilia, as well as a collection of classic and modern classic vehicles.
Our Mercs & Munitions event launched the next phase in SLSHOP’s community. An open, all-inclusive event for owners of all Mercedes models, not just SLs. Whatever the age of the car or the owner, we brought people together to connect and share their passion for the classic Mercedes mindset. The array of cars was fantastic, with our very own 450 SL SportLine race car, Matilda, taking prime position at the venue, while an array of unique models were on display throughout the grounds. Of the 51 Mercs that showed up, a few highlights included a C34 AMG, an Almandine 190E (W201), as well as one of only 200 R63 AMGs – a 7-seater wagon with a menacing V8.
