R129 SL BRAKE CHECK
The R129 is a heavy SL. The SL500 weight in at 1770kg (3902 lbs) while the SL320 and other six-cylinder variants weigh in at 1780kg, heavier than its eight-cylinder siblings. This weight combined with the wholesome power offered by each variant means that you require exceptionally optimised braking, as well as the correct high-quality components to form your braking system.
WHAT DOES THE BRAKE HEALTH CHECK INVOLVE?
Our expert craftsmen will test your brakes in the real-world conditions to establish common issues such as pulling, squeaking, sticking or weak functioning. They will then inspect each component individually, considering obvious elements such as discs and pads, before removing and checking caliper movement, condition of the brake lines and brake fluid condition. Also scrutinised is the functioning of the parking brake.
Finally, a diagnostics check will present any additional faults with the Electronic Stability Program and ABS. This process adds another layer of security to ensure we are mending the correct brake-related issues with your R129, saving you time and money in labour costs.
