The Mercedes-Benz R107 SL was rarely ordered with a manual gearbox over its 18 years of production, and since SLSHOP’s inception, we have come across manual transmissions on few occasions. So, you might be wondering, why do we offer a manual gearbox conversion?
The R107 SL was designed as a capable grand tourer, combining adequate power with luxury styling and conveniences to offer a refined sporty character. A three-speed, and later four-speed automatic, were therefore regarded as the best options to suit… But we think there is a lot to gain from an upgraded, modern manual transmission.
