HOW IT WORKS
Following a consultation to understand the issues you are experiencing and the age of your AMG, our team will utilise modern diagnostics equipment to read your vehicle’s ECU (modern AMG model) or carry out road tests and practical assessment of older models. The latter may involve using test components to check if replacement of a particular part will resolve an issue before causing unnecessary expense to you.
Examples of how we diagnose an issue.
MERCEDES E500 HAMMER
Based on the W124 E-Class, the E500 features a 5.6 Litre V8 from the 560SEC, with twin overhead cams and four valves per cylinder to produce almost 400 horsepower. This setup is distinctively different to the Standard V8 and therefore requires understanding of this particular tuned engine. Rough idling or hunting could be a result of vacuum leaks with various interlinked issues which require thorough investigation and understanding.
Where the early models lack the intelligent ECU systems capable of outlining the origins of issues, the 2000s saw the emergence of more supportive systems. A CLK55 AMG may suffer from misfires as a result of crank position sensor failure, which can only be diagnosed with the right software. Where necessary, we may need to assess other components.
These examples are intended to illustrate the different approach we take to your model of AMG.
