As part of the Anniversary Celebrations marking 50 years of the Mercedes-Benz R107, SLSHOP were approached by Mercedes-Benz World to supply an exceptional example to display. Only too keen to help, we had just the car for the occasion – an exceptional, restored 300SL in Signal Red.
The car in question was subject to a comprehensive ‘perfection’ restoration by SLSHOP. Wanting to create the very finest SL possible, the goal was to build an R107 SL as if it had just left the factory in 1989. The brief set by the customer to SLSHOP was very simple – build it the best that you possibly can.
When the restoration was complete, the end result was an ‘as new’ 300SL, ready to be shown and enjoyed. As a flagship for what SLSHOP can do, and the ultimate R107 example, it made was the perfect contender to sit pride of place at Mercedes-Benz World.
The car can now be seen on display at Mercedes-Benz World, home to the finest collection of three-pointed stars in the country. Based at Brooklands motor racing circuit in Surrey, the popular attraction is well worth a visit. There’s plenty to see and do for the whole family, for adults and children alike.
SLSHOP will be leading the way to Mercedes-Benz World in a convoy of 50 R107 SLs later in the year, a spectacle that really will be something to behold.
