We’ve been desperate to talk about this. In September we were invited to Anglesey circuit to attend a top secret filming session focusing on a topic we’ve been leading for years. If you’ve read our market reviews over the past few years, you’ll know that we’ve been preaching about the R129 as the NEXT BIG THING. So when Hagerty UK invited us to bring an SL500 along to be featured in their Bull Market List, we were more than happy to oblige.
On December 7th, Hagerty released their Bull Market List which utilises model-specific data that they have collated from an array of sources, including their very own rich and extensive database. The data this year presented an eclectic array of vehicles, from the Lamborghini Diablo and the Citroen BX and of course, the mighty R129 SL. For this particular occasion we offered a mid-face lift V8 example from our Showroom. Finished in Brilliant Silver with Grey Leather, this ‘sweet spot’ V8 represents the mid-life facelift of the R129 SL, with the revised double side vents, removal of the orange indicator lens previously incorporated into the headlamps and the first update to the rear lights since the introduction of the R107 in 1971.
This particular example has a very low mileage and is offered for immediate sale with the same ASL 500 registration paint coming with the vehicle. Watch the video below to find out more about this SL500 and how it differs from other examples produced over the model’s 13 year production line.
