Mercs & Mates is our way of giving you something to look forward. A reason to take the car cover off, embark on a detour, and socialise with like-minded enthusiasts; hopefully you’ll make some friends along the way. Here’s the initial list of dates for your diary.
Bikes, Benz & BBQ – End of August – Date to be Confirmed
Bikes & Benz celebrates two different groups of petrolheads. We’re all the same at heart – we love the essence of motoring – the smells, sounds and engineering aspect of these machines. We also share a passion for the social aspect. The only thing that makes us all different is the number of wheels we have. Whether you have four, three, two or even one! You’re welcome to join us for this unique event.
Elan Valley: Petrolhead Pilgrimage – 10/09/2022
We’ve got the route, you’ve got the vehicle. This is a collective convoy into Wales to enjoy the winding roads of Mid-Wales. We’ll start at SLSHOP for coffee and croissants before heading out towards Leominster, onto Rhayader and then into the Elan Valley. Those who want to explore further into Wales can join us as we venture onto the Devil’s Bridge and Aberystwyth. We’ll be staying the night on the coast, but you are free to do as you please.
Bring your Merc and your Mates. It’s going to be a great drive through winding roads and quaint Welsh villages.
Nostalgic Nights: Mini Meet @ SLSHOP – 18/09/2022
Another Mini Meet at SLSHOP. This is the first of Nostalgic Nights – inspired by Bob Seger’s Hollywood Nights Album, we’re celebrating the fifties and sixties models. If you’ve got a Merc from this era and wish to display it, sign up to day. The meet is open to all model owners, but we’d like to encourage the Heritage (fifties & sixties) models to take up podium position.
Nineties Knights: Mini Meet @ SLSHOP: 22/10/2022
We’re getting the gang together to show off those completely original 90s Mercs and the supermods of the nineties. Got a slammed whip? We want you to show off your creation. If you’ve dared to be different, we want you to show off your modified Merc at our place. Our nineties night will be a weekend evening of cars and coffee. So bring your mates and your Merc for what will be a fantastic occasion for all.
60 YEARS OF THE PAGODA: 2023
Yes, we’re already talking about 2023. However, this is an important year and marks the 60th anniversary of the W113 Pagoda. With that in mind, we’re already revealing our schedule of events to celebrate.
#SLSHOP60: PAGODA PARTY @ SLSHOP | JULY 2023
Those of you who joined our #SLSHOP50 R107 anniversary drive will know how spectacular this occasion was and we intend to replicate it for Pagoda owners in the UK. The day will start at SLSHOP with coffee and food served until midday, when we will depart for Mercedes-Benz World, Surrey. Here we intend to meet other Pagoda owners and enjoy a parade lap on the track.
#SLSHOP60: PAGODA TOUR TO SOUTHERN FRANCE | AUGUST
In 2023 we will host one guided tour for Pagoda owners to join us for a drive down to Southern France, where we will rendezvous with the legend, Bruno Sacco – one of the designers and engineers instrumental in the Pagoda’s success story. This is a paid tour including accommodation throughout the trip, as well as access to SLSHOP’s support team should any mechanical issues arise. Please register your interest for this tour.
