The fully restored Blue Metallic (387) 280 SL Pagoda has been the most sought after of the W113 models since first launched in 1967. It was fully restored before SLSHOP were approached to sell the vehicle on behalf of the owner. Sales Director, Bruce Greetham, reported that ‘’the colour combination, calibre of the restoration and the finely tuned engine performance made this a truly exceptional example of an extremely valuable piece of Mercedes heritage.’’ Within days of arrival, the company found a new owner who plans intends to use the vehicle all year round. Pagodas of this calibre and specification is now breaching and surpassing the £250,000 mark.

The company report that the trend is set to continue for all W113 Pagoda models. Their appeal and rarity influences the values of the 230 and 250 SL variants. This was confirmed by classic car insurance specialist, Hagerty, in their 2022 Bull Market List.
With this new Mercedes record sales benchmark came a similar surge in demand for the Pagoda’s successor. The one of a kind R107 300 SL finished in Astral Silver with Blue MB Tex interior, was delivered to SLSHOP. This was part of a collection of three fully restored classic Mercedes by Kienle Automobiltechnik GmbH. The German restorer commissioned SLSHOP’s sales team to sell all three vehicles, with the R107 300 SL commanding a record six figure sum. Bruce Greetham remarked, ‘’the R107 continues to provoke emotion from enthusiasts around the world. The six-cylinder variants have become just as popular as the oft sought after V8s.’’
