W113 PAGODA RALLY & COMPETITION PREPARATION
Enthusiasts might not know it, but there is competition DNA found with the W113 Pagoda. The 230SL Mercedes when first launched, was transformed into a rally thoroughbred, going onto with the European Rally Championship in 1962. The M127.981 engine was deemed the perfect unit due to its ability to rev higher.
But the baton doesn’t stop with the 230SL. The higher powered M129 and M130 make the perfect candidates for performance enhancements, and combine this with uprated suspension, braking and a moderntransmission, and you have a competition prepped Pagoda. So, what are you waiting for?
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?
SLSHOP’s SportLine department have devoted years to fine tuning improvements to the W113 Pagoda’s three engine variants. These improvements have intended to keep as much of the original character of each powerplant, focusing on refining the cooling system, reprofiling the camshaft, incorporating manual gearboxes and adding uprated injection systems with programmable ECUs and new throttle bodies.
On the inside, we have devised bespoke rool cages, centre consoles with modern infotainment systems, and added race seats with rally timers and sophisticated lighting systems for night time competitive environments.

Pagoda & 60’s Shop Tour
In the beginning, R107 customers started bringing their 1960s cars to SLSHOP. Following this, we’ve grown into a dedicated workshop specifically for cars of this era.
