Throughout the last decade of SLSHOP car sales, we have seen popular colours ebb and flow. There is no real rhyme or or reason to what colour is in stock at any given time, but for those of us who work with these cars day in and day out, certain trends tend to emerge. We might have a run of a certain colour, and Smoke Silver is a colour we felt we were writing in sales descriptions on a much more regular basis around 5 years ago. Now as we type in 2021, there seem to be far fewer Smoke Silver cars coming through the showroom, making this Smoke Silver with Beige Check Fabric car a real breath of fresh air. Not only is Smoke Silver a rare and desirable colour, this car is smartly combined with an Impala Brown Metallic hardtop. It’s not often that the R107 SL was matched with a contrasting hardtop, but Smoke and Impala are two colours that work perfectly.
Unusual options aren’t limited to the paintwork. For a 300SL, this is one very well equipped car. Inside there’s an Outside Air Temperature Gauge , Cruise Control, Rear Seating, Fire Extinguisher and Limited Slip Differential, usually found on the V8 models. Not only that, but air conditioning is also included, although not mentioned on the build sheet – a very high specification car indeed.
The check fabric suits the colour perfectly, making this low mileage and very useable R107 SL an delightful proposition for some international touring, should the moment arise.
A delight to have in the showroom.
