1988 Mercedes-Benz 300SL (R107)
Impala Brown Metallic (441) with Mushroom Leather (275) and Dark Brown Fabric Soft Top (8023)
Impala Brown was the 12th different shade of brown offered throughout R107 production, available only for the last 3 years of production. This beautiful metallic shade was ahead of it’s time, a colour that wouldn’t look our of place in the glossy brochures of modern Mercedes-Benz cars.
Metallic paint isn’t the only expensive option that this 1988 300SL boasts. With the Mushroom Leather, Outside Temperature Gauge, Paintwork Preservation, Fire Extinguisher and Heated Rear View Mirrors, the total purchase price of this car in 1988 came to just over £36,155. That equates to £97,278 in today’s money, one reassuringly expensive classic Mercedes-Benz.
Showing just 52,000 miles from new, this superb R107 SL is a truly excellent example. There is an impressive history file present with the car, containing more than 80 documents, including the original purchase invoice. All services have been performed by Mercedes-Benz main dealers, as evidenced by the invoices. The documentation for this 300SL spans three folders, proof of careful stewardship and a tradition that the next owner should most certainly continue.
