1984 Mercedes-Benz 380SL (R107) #2077 Left Hand Drive

This completely restored 1984 380 SL has been built to concours standards by an overseas Mercedes-Benz specialist. It enjoyed a ‘body off’ restoration with the end goal being perfection both inside and out, including the underside and engine.

The 3.8 litre engine was fully rebuilt and detailed to ‘show standard’.

Outside the brightwork, seals and chrome are all in superb condition, along with the sort top.

The colour is a Rolls Royce hue, a complex and rewarding colour to look at, appearing a bright cherry red in some lights whilst being more plum in others. A fantastic shade the likes of which we haven’t seen on an R107 before.

Inside the car has been retrimmed in factory correct grey German leather, complete with perforation, including the door cards. The interior of this car is beautiful to behold – it is a joy to sit in, to experience and feel.

To observe this car up close is to appreciate the sheer level of craftsmanship that has gone into creating a very fine Mercedes-Benz indeed. It is clear that this SL was a source of great pride for the previous owner – a finished product that would take large reserves of enthusiasm and finance to complete, now available and ready to be used by a new owner.

It enjoys some neat upgrades, such as the height adjustable seat (usually only found on later cars), outside air temperature gauge and premium Focal loud speakers. The audiophiles amongst you will surely appreciate the latter – Focal have been making high quality audio equipment since 1979, not far from the production date of this car.
