Condition Synopsis:

This is a good driving Pagoda, with a brand new re-upholstered leather interior, with a stunning new protective wrap which can be removed as per the new owners wishes. As can be seen in the supplied photos, the 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL is in great condition, mechanically as well as aesthetically.

History File:

Delivered in the December of 1971, this SL must've been one of the final cars to be sold in the UK, as the sales of the next-generation R107 SL had begun already. It was bought by popular jockey Derek Ancil for his wife, who reported to have used it until her demise. Thereafter, the car was stored in a barn for 10 years, and subsequently brought back to a useable standard in the hands of a Rolls-Royce specialist. The next owner lovingly and painstakingly worked on the engine, body, paintwork, and chrome; who later passed the car onto his son. The current keeper bought the car from the SLSHOP and while impressed by how it drove and felt, he wanted the interior to be recommissioned in leather by the SLSHOP and matched to the original colour, which was completed recently in 2023.  Due to the high quality of the reupholstery project, this set the current owner back £25,159. The original shade of Tunis Beige Metallic was also recently covered under a protective wrap via the world famous Topaz Detailing of London, at a cost of £6,552. In conclusion, this is a highly desirable W113 Pagoda that's great to drive, looks immaculate, and comes with a detailed history to back it up.

INDUSTRY TRUSTED

I have followed SLSHOP with interest for some years now and recently took the plunge and purchased my dream car – they did not disappoint!
The whole experience from start to finish was superb. Their communication was excellent and they kept me
informed every step of the way. Thank you and I look forward to my next purchase!

I have just purchased a 280SL from SLSHOP. I have already purchased several parts from SLSHOP and have found all members of staff most helpful and it is more like dealing with a club than a commercial enterprise I would highly recommend using SLSHOP for cars, parts and most importantly impartial advice.

They put up with my indecision, inexperience and last minute demands and my car is the best thing I’ve ever bought. The most impressive thing about them is the after care though. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they’ve given me the best advice to make sure I get the most out of my car. Can you tell I’m obsessed with them all?
