Symptoms
Poor Running, difficult starting, misfire and failure to start.

Vehicle affected

SL 107’s with 6 cylinder and V8 engines (350sl, 380sl, 420sl, 450sl, 500sl and 560sl)
This problem is particularly common to 300sl’s

Diagnosis

• Faulty distributor cap
• Faulty rotor arm

The Cure

Replace both components with high quality parts. Some SL 107’s will also benefit from having a full HT lead set replacement. High quality parts are essential for a long term resolution to this problem.
