We are delighted to bring to market this completely originally and inimitable 300 SL, previously sold by our Sales Department in 2017 to a passionate perfectionist renowned for his dedication to preserving classic cars. The 300 SL has been the subject of national conversation amongst the Mercedes-Benz community, having been perfected to award-winning standards with a series of accolades including Concours Winner.

As a Concours Winner, this 300 SL has been cherished in a way unlike any other SL. The owner has made it their sole mission to keep this 300 SL in immaculate condition, barely adding to the mileage in the 5 years of ownership. During this time, the vehicle has undergone a rigorous routine of care, restoring all components to factory standard in order to achieve the desired level of successes.

Concours Credentials:

Focus included reviving the washer bottle, Blake fluid reservoir to ensure they look brand new. The steering box was painted the correct finish, while all the hoses were checked to ensure the factory markings were visible. The current owner has removed the subframes and rear axle, stripping them down and powder coating before replacing the bushes. They also spent weeks cleaning the black wax oil off the bottom of the car using brake fluid cleaner.

Brake calipers were also painted in their original gold finish. Each bolt, tie rod, fuel line, and spring had to have the correct factory sign off markings before being re-fitted one by one. The owner has even created a custom grille to sit in front of the radiator, preventing flies from getting trapped on the way to shows or during test drives.

With Hollywood credentials, the exterior Signal Red (568) finish is in enviable condition, having had paintwork preservation from new and being barely used over the past 30 years. Further cosmetic improvements by the current owner included things like replacing rubber sill strips and refurbishing the black mirror surrounds, creating a delectable and stand out example of an R107.
